How to Abstain Yourself From Alcohol

If you are on your weight loss program, than try to relinquish alcohol. If total quitting is not possible than at least avoid it as far as possible. Alcohol contains a bulk of sugars that can hinder your weight loss program. Instead of burning calories you can add on to them, if you are a daily in taker. These points might help you to abstain yourself from it:

  • Remember that alcohol makes you loose all your control. You get tempted towards all fatty and oily items while consuming it. This puts you back from where you started at day 1 of your weight loss program. Drinks and oily items are two fats friends that act as a foe to your body, thereby increasing the calorie content more than you can even think of.
  • Alcohol contains a large quantity of waste sugars that might increase the sugar level of your body and make you a diabetic patient.
  • If you are ready to visit a party or a social gathering, set your mind before you leave to stick to a glass or two not more than that, even if you are forced by your friends.
  • Don’t keep on taking glasses after glasses in order not to be blamed buy your friends to be a spoil sport.
  • If your wife accompanies you then it should be her duty to remind you of the extra calories you have consumed and should stop you from further doing that.
  • If you still don’t have any other option than choose the red wine instead of the beer. Red wine is made from grapes without removing their skin and thus contains lesser sugar as compared to beer that is prepared after removing the skin of the grapes and is thus rich in carbohydrates. If you go in for the red wine you are less likely to increase your sugar as well as calorie intake.
  • If you are not addicted to drinks, the better option for you is a diet coke, which is very similar in resemblance to a beer and contains negligible calories. Thereby, helping you to be a part of your social gathering without increasing your unnecessary calories.
  • The best option for adductors is to take wine with your meals. The meal helps the body not to be directly affected by the addition of the extra calories.
