1. The auto responder just is an automated reply mailer to the received mail, so it cant just reply in reference to a context. So make the autoresponder mails to carry generic messages like “Will contact you in person/phone within some time”.
2. The auto responders area also used to send sales mails in a periodic manner to the clients who have subscribed to such offers. Make the time and day of delivery in such a fashion that it does not seem odd in any case. A sales mail at midnight certainly seems odd!
3. The auto responder messages can carry a note on why such messages are mailed to the specific address, because there is surely a good lot of commotion going on around spam filters. So make it a legal mail. Your sales mail does not deserve to be classified a spam!
4. The auto responder must be suited to the niche in which you are dealing with. The message can be somewhat light hearted if it’s the toys that it is endorsing, but should be professional in case of a business of sophistication.
5. The auto responders cannot substitute you! So don’t ever forget to contact the mailers yourself!
